Our Story
Newling started with two people who knew how events should feel.
Tom and Mike first worked together in the events industry, before taking different paths across agency and corporate environments. Between them, they built more than 30 years of experience delivering conferences, awards, incentives, exhibitions and corporate events.
But they kept coming back to the same belief: events don't need to be complicated to be brilliant. Too much jargon. Too many layers. Too many suppliers who make things harder than they need to be. So they decided to build something different.
Newling was created to give clients an experienced, dependable partner who takes ownership, keeps things simple and genuinely cares about the outcome.
Since then, the team has grown — but that principle hasn't changed.

Meet the Team
Mike Newsome
Co-Founder & Director of Event Operations
Mike has spent over 20 years in the events industry, working across agency and corporate environments and pretty much every part of event delivery.
As Co-Founder and Director of Event Operations, Mike is responsible for making sure the events we sell actually happen — and happen brilliantly. Working closely with Sofia and Lindsay, he oversees the detail, logistics and delivery that turns a brief into a successful event.
Calm under pressure, obsessed with detail and very difficult to surprise.
Tom Healing
Co-Founder & Commercial Director
Tom has spent his career in events, working across event management, client relationships and the commercial side of the industry. So naturally, he decided the sensible thing to do was start his own events company.
As Co-Founder and Commercial Director, Tom looks after the day-to-day running and growth of Newling, working closely with Kevin on new business and Josh on the numbers, while still getting stuck into events because, apparently, he can't help himself.
Big on ideas, big on relationships and occasionally too excited about a good spreadsheet.
Sofia Ventura
Event Manager
Sofia brings over 10 years of experience across exhibitions, conferences, awards and bespoke events. She's worked on everything from large-scale exhibitions to complex live events, so there's not much that phases her.
At Newling, Sofia is one of the people making sure everything happens when it's supposed to, where it's supposed to and without anyone noticing the chaos happening behind the scenes.
Organised, calm and fluent in Portuguese — useful when the event takes us abroad.
Lindsay Woodbridge
Event Manager
Lindsay has built her career across sales, project management and events, including time at the Evening Standard and Newbridge Events.
Originally joining Newling as a freelancer, Lindsay quickly became part of the furniture and we were more than happy to make it official. She's brilliant with clients, suppliers and partners and has a knack for making everyone feel like they're in safe hands.
Exceptionally likeable, relentlessly organised and very hard to say no to.
Kevin Copestake
Business Development Manager
Kevin brings an established career in sales and business development to Newling, with a talent for opening doors, building relationships and spotting opportunities.
His job is simple: introduce great businesses to Newling and show them why working with us is a little different. He's the first step in bringing new clients into the Newling world - and we're expecting him to be quite busy.
Good at talking to people. Fortunately, that's literally his job.
